Under the B.C. Ministry of Health orthotic services are not covered under the basic health care plan (Care Card Services). All orthopedic and medical products must be purchased and are tax-exempt with a prescription. People who have extended health care plans can call their insurance companies to see if their product or device is covered. Often extended health care plans require a prescription for reimbursement. Those individuals who are covered under ICBC, WCB, or Social Services can be served at Hodgson Orthotics once an approval has been received for their services.
