Why see a Certified Orthotist or Prosthetist?

Certified Orthotists and Prosthetists have completed superior training which has provided them a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathologies, biomechanics, materials, device design, fabrication and fitting, and patient care. Following the completion of a minimum of eight years of education, they have passed a series of exams regulated by the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO). Then, when working in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, they are guided by the Canadian Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics (CAPO) which promotes continuing education, ensuring that each practitioner is up to date on the latest technology. Each clinic has an onsite fabrication facility which allow us to provide truly customizable services and products which can be adjusted at any time to ensure the quality of fit. Because of these things, we are accepted as “preferred providers” by payment agencies such as WBC and ICBC.
