Additional Funding

There is additional funding availible for children or youth under the age of 19 who meet certain criteria.

At Home Program

The At Home Program provides funding for residents of BC who are 17 year old or younger, living at home with a parent or guardian and who are dependant in at least three of the following activities: eating, dressing, toileting and washing. This program provides funding only when pharmacare does not – for cervical collars, wrist orthoses and hand orthoses, ankle foot orthoses, foot orthoses, twister cables and orthopedic shoes if required to accommodate for a medical condition.

Variety: the childrens' charity

Variety provides funding for children 18 years old or younger, who have been residents of BC for at least three months and who have been qualified as “special needs”.  It covers services the family is unable to financially afford. Applications must be completed by the parent of a child with special needs prior to purchasing the services. Applications must include a recent photo of your child, a letter of justification from a referring professional, a quote for the treatment plan, and a notice of assessment (CCRA Personal Income Tax) for the current year for each household income.

President's Choice Children's Charities

Funding from President’s Choice Children’s Charities is available to children or youth 18 years old or younger who have been diagnoses with a physical or developmental disability and whose family’s grocss combined household income is less than $70,000.  Applications must be done by the parent of a child or children with special needs prior to purchasing the items or services.
